Receive Your Blessings Now!
Oh it’s Monday again!
That feeling when you don’t want to get up, go to work, or do the things that you need to do. I was actually checking my to-do list that I made the other day and as I look on it I felt saying “That’s a lot of things to do Lord, but I don’t feel like doing all of these right now. I don’t know but I’m feeling a bit lazy today.”
Receiving The Inheritance From God
After that I got my Bible and read a few chapters on the book of Joshua. Chapter 18 tells the division of the rest of the land of Canaan.
Remember how the Israelites were able to conquer much of the land and the country was brought under control but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance.
So Joshua said to them, “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?” (Joshua 18:3). In this verse, Joshua asked why some of the tribes were putting off the job of possessing the land. God has already fulfilled His promise to them, they just need to do their part to receive it.
Managing Our Time
Often we delay doing tasks that seem large, difficult, boring, or disagreeable.
For mothers, tasks like preparing healthy food for their family, taking the initiative to teach their young children, and everything that keeps the household going can sometimes make them put things off.
It can be even harder for working moms like me who wants to go the extra mile. But to continue putting them off shows lack of discipline, poor stewardship of time, and in some cases , disobedience to God.
True Fulfillment and Satisfaction
In proverbs 13:4, it says that a sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. We shouldn’t let laziness hinder us from receiving the blessings God has already given us.
One of these blessings is the feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction for accomplishing something that you know is good. Let’s work hard and do the good things He has put in our hearts for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10).
Fulfilling our daily tasks, how simple it may be, gives glory to God. In the end, I believe that our labor is never in vain and hard work really pays off.
How much do you believe that blessings follow obedience? Have you experienced in your life when blessings started to flow as you obeyed what God asked you to do?
Let me share with you a story of a brother in Christ who was challenged by God in terms of giving but was overjoyed when blessings followed His obedience.
