Hi! Welcome to my blog!

I’m a work-in-progress: follower of Christ, wife to Kris, and mother to Josh. I’m also a work-at-home mom. I believe each one of us has a purpose and that is to glorify God in whatever He has called us to do. We all have a story to tell, and I want to tell the story of God in my life. How God is teaching my heart to be the good soil, to be THE HEART THAT IS GOOD.

Since most of us will be staying and celebrating t Since most of us will be staying and celebrating this holiday season at home, we have a lot of time to reflect on everything God has done for us this 2020 and to set goals for the coming year. 

Believe it or not, God has been busy doing transformative work in each and every one of us this year. We are all forced to get out of our comfort zone. And that is not a bad thing! We learned to take risks, to try new activities or hobbies we haven’t done before, to open up a new business and to be creative. We learned to persevere and endure hardship. We learned to wait and be hopeful. We learned to value the things we usually take advantage of. We learned to love and serve selflessly to our family. We learned to FORGIVE. ❤

In a nutshell, we are all LEARNING and GROWING! ☺️💪👍👊

My son loves it when we affirm him everytime he do My son loves it when we affirm him everytime he does a good thing, builds something new with his toys and Lego blocks, or helps us with household chores. 😊

Everybody wants to be appreciated, who doesn't?

We learned from the #MOTIVATE series that the principle of affirmation encourages positive change. 

The Bible says that there is power in our words. We can choose to speak life or death to our spouse, our children, family, and friends. Our words to them can have a lasting impact so we should always be careful with how and what wr speak to them.

Pastor Peter said that we should increase positive words of affirmation and reduce negative words of correction. It isn't easy but God will surely help us as we call on Him and asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit. 

Lord help us to have a teachable heart - a heart that is good. ❤️🙏
For our activity this week, I printed pictures of For our activity this week, I printed pictures of different jobs and activities to teach my son about vision. I know at his age he still couldn't understand the full meaning of it but I want him to learn a simple and very important thing. 

I spread out all the pictures before him and I asked him to choose what he likes. First he picked the policeman. I asked him why and he said because it is blue. 😂 (But he actually knows what the policeman do: he catches the bad guy.)Then I picked up Jesus' picture and hold it together with the policeman.

 I told Josh that whatever he chooses, Jesus is always with him. If he chooses the policeman, Jesus can help him catch the bad guy. If he chooses the fireman, Jesus can help him to put out the fire. If he chooses to do karate, Jesus can help him too. 

I want him to have the vision that he can do a lot of things with Jesus. He can always ask help from him.

The fifth principle #vision from the #motivateseries talks the importance of teaching and helping our children to know God's personal purpose and plan for their lives. 

Casting a godly vision gives direction in making decisions and in prioritizing our activities to achieve God's will for us. 

Lord help us to help our children and family cast a godly vision for their lives. Help us to have a teachable heart. ❤️

My son would often join me in my morning workouts. My son would often join me in my morning workouts.💪💪💪
I think he enjoys this kind of activity because he loves active play a lot! We’d do jumping jacks, push up, plank, bridge, Superman (his favorite and not my favorite 😩) and others. Even if it’s tiring, we enjoy our time together. Sometimes we couldn’t hold on for long when we do plank and we’ll just laugh it off.😅

This is one of our quality times together. And this is one of the ways that I build positive relationship with my child.🥰

INTIMACY is the fourth principle in the #MOTIVATE book. We learned that the closer our relationship with our spouse, our children, our family, and friends, the greater our influence will be. 👨‍👩‍👦

I love this great wisdom that Pastor Peter shared, 

“If you build intimate relationships with your children while they are young, they will cherish and honor you even as they grow older. They will value your opinions and advice in the decisions they make in life, like choosing friends, a career, a spouse, because they respect and trust you and they know that you respect and trust them.” 

Lord help us to build happy memories with our family that will bond us together for life in an intimate relationship. Help us to have a teachable heart. ❤️

It has been my family’s daily routine to get rea It has been my family’s daily routine to get ready for bedtime 🛌 between 9 and 10 PM. Before we turn the lights off, we’ll have play time first with Josh. We would wind down by reading books, playing, a lot of talking, and a quick screen time.
 
He would sometimes ask his daddy to make him a house using the pillows and blanket which he really enjoys. 

Maybe it’s the reason why it isn’t hard to have Josh prepare for sleep. Whenever I’d say, “Okay, it’s time to go to bed.” He would excitedly obey. I believe he looks forward for the time that we will all be in the bedroom and play. 👨‍👩‍👦

The third principle from the series #MOTIVATE that we are learning from church is TIME.

To a lot of people especially our children, LOVE is spelled T-I-M-E.

Our involvement to our families’ lives, and theirs to ours, is always PRICELESS. 

One of the highlights from the book MOTIVATE is this: 

“Time is an investment. The more time you spend with your children, the deeper your relationship will grow. The deeper your relationship, the greater will be your influence.”

We wouldn’t want other people to be of more influence to our children or to our family instead of us. 

So let’s spend not just QUALITY time but MORE time with them. ⏱⏱⏱

Remember: Quality time is not enough. Quality and Quantity time go together. 

Lord, help us have a teachable heart - a heart that is good. ❤️🙏

The second principle in the book #MOTIVATE is Open The second principle in the book #MOTIVATE is Open Communication.

In this topic I learned the importance of developing a habit of listening and this is one thing I sometimes fail. 😢

In a family, open communication is the key to our spouse and child’s heart. The more they see us taking the time to listen and be available to them, the more they feel safe to open up their hearts to us.

I personally like this principle because I love knowing someone’s heart and I enjoy heart-to-heart talks. ❤️😊

Yesterday we got our eggshell bag and clock from EQ Diaper Kiddie Fun Time Promo. My son has been using EQ Diapers since birth and I would collect the empty wrappers because you can use them to join promos and get freebies. I was able to collect enough points to get a bag and a clock. 

So as I was looking for the design to choose for the bag, I remembered to ask Josh which design he likes and he picked the ladybug. 🐞🐞🐞 But I was thinking the penguin 🐧or the bee 🐝 looked better for him. Then I realized that it was an opportunity to practice open communication. I want my son to feel that he is free to choose what he wants and I’m interested in what he likes. 

There’s still lot more to learn and to apply about this topic especially as my son grows up but thank God that we can practice it as young as he is now. 

Lord, help us have a teachable heart - a heart that is good.❤️

When we look at this verse, we quickly get this id When we look at this verse, we quickly get this idea that when we come to God, He will answer are prayers and give us all the wonderful things that we desire in this world.🙏

But the reality is this; God's "great and mighty things" does not always mean success, prosperity, wealth, or glory. 👑💰📈

The great and mighty things are his miracles, spiritual healing, a person's transformation, marriage restoration, soul redemption, forgiveness, mercy, and great love.❤️

Before we see the beauty of what God is doing, He must deal with our sin first. 

Before we become amazed of His mighty work, we need to obey Him first. 

Are you ready to be in awe of God? Call unto Him, listen, and obey. He is just waiting for you. :)

Though it was messy we both enjoyed our time together.❤️

Again time spent with our children is a time invested.🥰

I always believe that LIFE begins when we surrender it to Christ. 

When we turn over our life to God, we let Him do His mighty work in us. We start to see His glory and power change the circumstances we are in, the people around us, and the desire of our hearts. 

Lord help us have a heart that is good. ❤️

I love the new series in @ccfmain every Sunday ca I love the new series in @ccfmain every Sunday  called #MOTIVATE (Influence for Lasting Impact) which talks about how we should be intentional towards our families and the people around us. 

It is based on Pastor Peter Tan-Chi and his wife Deonna Tan-Chi's book, MOTIVATE. (I encouraged you to get a copy of it because it can help transform one's family if the principles there are applied. Such a blessing! 🥰)

It started with the first topic - Modeling.

I believe somehow we were able to model to my son the habit of praying. He would be the one to lead us in prayer before we eat or sleep or whenever one is not feeling well or scared. 🙏

Though it is still a memorized prayer for him, I want Josh to see the importance of acknowledging God in our daily living.

What struck me the most from the first message was pastor Peter's question:

"When our children look at us, do they see that we love the Lord?"

I'm guilty of not being a good model to my child at times especially when I get angry. 😢 But I thank God for how He lovingly rebukes and reminds me that I can always choose to be filled with the Holy Spirit so I can respond to situations instead of reacting. 

As what sister Deonna  said that we must be what we want our children to be because they will become what we are. 

If we show them that we are always angry, they will be ill-tempered 😡 as well. 

If we often shout, they will tend to shout 😮 as well. 

Let us remember that children copy well not what we say but what we do. (And I know a lot of parents will agree 😁).

Lord help us to be a good example to our children and the people around us.
Help us have a teachable heart. ❤️

We celebrated our home’s 1st year anniversary ye We celebrated our home’s 1st year anniversary yesterday with this yummy cake from @happyfrostings . 😋🎂

It’s been a year that we are surviving and thriving in God’s leave-and-cleave design for marriage. It wasn’t easy at first, but it was only when we obeyed that we experienced His amazing work and blessings in our family. 🥰

It also opened a lot of doors for growth in our marriage: as we achieved oneness in decision making, in our priorities, and in our intimacy. It is a great help in our relationship's restoration and healing as well.

There are still lots of work to do especially that my husband and I have differing viewpoints and coming from different backgrounds but oneness helps much on embracing those differences.👫

Working together to live on our own while depending solely to God is an answered prayer. At the same time it is fun and exciting to develop our own family lifestyle.😁 ❤️🙏

Unity and oneness in marriage is one great thing that couples should all pursue. I thank God that we are now free to become everything God meant for us when He declared us “one flesh”.

Genesis 2:24
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

We feel loved when others think and care for us. B We feel loved when others think and care for us. But when God does, it's out of this world! 🤩

As we are intentional in helping other people, God also makes sure that He meets all our needs. This is what I experienced a few days ago. 🥰 There were people we were helping and I didn't know a blessing is also on our way. 🥰

Always in awe of Your work Lord! 

When we keep on doing what is good and what is right, there are times we can't help but ask God "Lord how about me?". 

And He would remind me not to worry because He is the one taking care of me.

Yesterday I attended a #womazinghealthtalk with @l Yesterday I attended a #womazinghealthtalk with @lifesciencephil at @mamacademy_ph and it was such a wonderful learning session. 

I learned a lot about the positive effects of a good lifestyle in our overall health (proper nutrition, enough sleep, exercise, managed stress, and healthy relationships).👍👍👍

I've been praying for wisdom and guidance for healthy living and I thank God for leading me to right choices.

My husband and I love this healthy snack from @nutty.selectionsph. Eating nuts has a lot of healty benefits and it can also help prevent some diseases. It's also a good replacement for junk food.

We should be good stewards of this life that God has entrusted to us and be intentional with our health - all for God's glory. 😊❤️

This short prayer has been so real and powerful in my prayer life. 🙏😍

I believe that as I pray and declare it with faith, I invite God's power to be displayed in my life or in any circumstances I'm in. 

Instead of saying "Lord take away my problem."

I'd say, "Lord amaze me of what You will do." :)

God has shown me a lot of wonderful things and even in the simplest situation, He never fails to amaze me. 🥰

What are the things you've been thinking of during What are the things you've been thinking of during this pandemic? 

Lately I've been having these negative thoughts in my mind. I'm worried that they sometimes affect even the important things I need to do every day. 😔

I know they are not pleasing to God and I must take action before they enter my heart and become part of me. 

This verse is a great reminder that I should take every thought captive. It's honestly an every day battle to all of us and definitely not an easy one.

The things we let in our minds has the capability to destroy us if we won't do something on it immediately. 

But we shouldn't worry because God's word is our weapon!

We need to renew our mind daily and feed ourselves with His word. Just as it says in Philippians 4:8 :

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

Lord help us. 🙏
Love how this song reminded me that God was with m Love how this song reminded me that God was with me, is with me, and will be with me in every battle I face. 

I can still be joyful because He always work for the good of those who love Him.

And I can have the confidence that I will never have to fight the battle alone.
